Important notes about sleep schedules

These are samples, not rules

Every baby is different. These schedules are starting points. Adjust based on your baby's sleepy cues and your family's rhythm.

Wake time drives the schedule

If your baby wakes at 6 AM instead of 7 AM, shift everything earlier. The wake time sets the whole day.

Nap lengths matter more than nap times

A 30-minute nap is a short nap regardless of when it happens. Focus on getting full naps (1 hour+) rather than hitting exact times.

Regressions will disrupt any schedule

The 4-month, 8-month, 12-month, and 2-year regressions will temporarily disrupt even the best schedule. This is normal. Consistency will bring you back.

The last nap affects bedtime

If the last nap ends too late, bedtime will be a battle. Aim to have the last nap end at least 2 hours before bedtime.

Ready for the complete plan?

Schedules give you the framework. Our guides give you the full system, including what to do when your baby wakes at 2 AM, how to handle regressions, and a night-by-night plan for your baby's exact age.
